Default The DNC Speeches Opening (Monday) Night - "Woah" *keanu reeves face*

What a difference in star power.

I wanted to make a more complete post with more specifics, commentary and analysis but I am too fatigued right now.

I was really blown away by the difference in the DNC opening versus the RNC opening night.

"Star power" is exactly the phrase to describe it. So much for all the praise Melania and Trump Jr. got-- yikes. The entire lineup was star studded with people who matter in the Democratic party, and gee golly, they talked about platform issues and didn't just beat a drum!

Sure, Speaker Ryan spoke at the RNC. But it rang hollow and was not part of an all-star lineup. Theres a difference between a star and a star-studded lineup. The RNC got a fucking train ran on them tonight. (going by just the speeches and star power here, objectively)

It was an eye-opening experience, and so objective, that if you deny it we pretty much can assume you are a partisan hack. Anyone else pretty impressed right now?

no amount of hollow starpower can compare to Donald's speech. best address in modern American politics by far.

"platform issues"? Let's not dignify partisan rhetoric beyond its real scope here.

Counter-observation sustained.

I would have preferred Trump get the bells and whistles of some big lead-ins to get the energy going. I am a showman and a patron of showmanship. The energy at the DNC tonight was on a different level.

God told King Solomon himself "Life is nothing but vanity and vexation of spirit". RNC, despite any alleged narcissism on the part of the Don, was sorely lacking in the vanity department. Outside of the Don, the speakers were completely anemic or on the verge of hospitalization from sickle cell seemingly.

Romney, regardless of what you think about him or his politics, would have been nice to have on the ticket. I don't even like Jeb, but his lack of presence was noted. Rubio, again another big player, MIA. And again, I don't really have a lot of love for them personally, its just the Don's confirmation lacked pizazz.

It didn't help that just the sound of Mike Pence sipping water can make everyone impotent in a 6 mile radius.

Yet the major stories are still wikileaks, hillary's corruption, and unrest among the apparent majority of dem's who actually support bernie.

Boos and chants of bernie rang out during everyone's speeches regardless of who was speaking. No amount of star-power could outshine the travesty taking place at the DNC.

I guess you forgot Charels in Charge in charge of our days and nights going to the podium at RNC. Both parties get their own celebrity guest. Let's not forget the chair and his guest Clint Eastwood who spoke in the past too.

Not impressed. I was impressed by the displays of unity through out the day rofl and the head of the DNC being nailed by corruption and made to step down. Even better still was when Shultz was then hired by the Clinton campaign for doing such a nice job of throwing the primary for shitlary. Go Democracy!

Repubs don't hire start to speak, they elect them.
At least the ones that can speak, the rest go to democrat conventions.

Ya know what? I didn't even watch it. Just like rep-con skipped the first day and heard reports on talk radio. Watched some youtube clips later, was good stuff. Not dem-con yet, just radio talk, played windward (pc versiom).

Really, I don't even want to bother with dem-con, just as much as they don't want to bother flying even a single American flag at their derp-con. They're all fakes, from calling themselves "democrats" to their "greatest nation" whining only to spite Trump. It's all a complete farce. Screw their star power, there were no real stars there, not absent the stars of the red, white and blue.

Let's be honest here. Most celebrities are liberal. That is why the conservatives hire Chochi and the duck dynasty guy. And play really bad songs like Elvira for their constituents.

Because more celebrities are Liberal they can put more in their convention to appeal to the audience . The more support you got the better and they should embrace it.

You didn't miss much the first day of the RNC. They had people who were actively grieving a loved ones loss to explain in an irrational tone why they don't support Hillary , blaming her for Benghazi as if it was her fault and no one else's for the loss of her son. It felt like a propaganda speech day.

What do you expect people who lost family in Benghazi to say when Hitlary attempted to cover it up and still downplays it to this day.
