Unhappy Sold Item By Mistake. What can i do? :|

Sold an item a friend gifted me -> http://wiki.project1999.com/Singing_Steel_Gauntlets
I tried recovering by purchasing every cheap item/gems/gold/pearl/jade stuff that would resell for almost the same price you would pay for them. I digged through more than 30 items without any luck. Then i kinda did ruin myself by purchasing lots of gems, runes, and even some weapons. I lost around 500p and i never got to see the item back. Can this be petitioned?

Unfortunately no. I lost a stave of shielding this way. Sorry your dealing with old, shitty UIs. It's part of the package of a classic server.

Sell what you bought to another merchant and keep digging. The gems will sell back for nearly as much as you bought them for.

Ugh well i been selling to the same merchant, but from what i understand, it doesn't matter, since its like a QUEUE from what i been reading and from what i've experienced, because as soon as i would purchase X items, new ones would pop on the list, so i would buy them again, and rince and repeat, i've done this until only FS/Bronze Items were left in the Vendor with crazy prices XD.

Correct. A friend of mine calls this vendor-mining and it can end up costing a lot.

The vendors keep all items sold to them in order unless they're killed or the server is rebooted, but only a limited number are displayed. If you sold it to a popular vendor, you'll have to dig through hundreds of items to reach the item.

EX: Horth Evergreen in the Kelethin druid guild's inventory will look like this -
(his standard default list)
Bat Wing 203
Spiderling Eye 119
Rusty Dagger 20
Rusty Warhammer 2
Rusty Scimitar 12
Malachite 20
(+ a few more items)
> (hidden) Velium Two Handed Sword 1
> (hidden) Master Wu's Trance Stick 1
> (hidden) Fine Steel Scimitar 3
> (hidden) Sapphire 1
> (hidden) Singing Steel Gauntlets

So you can see the first thing sold to him since he was last reset is a bat wing, the second thing a spiderling eye, etc, because he's primarily used by newbies. Then a high level like me might come along and decide to vendor some things I don't need, and finally at the bottom are the recently sold Singing Steel Gauntlets that you want back.

If you choose to buy out the rusty scimitars and then sell them back, you have to make sure you get all 12 before selling back so they go to the bottom of the list. Then you'd get a list like this:

(his standard default list)
Bat Wing 203
Spiderling Eye 119
Rusty Dagger 20
Rusty Warhammer 2
Malachite 20
(+ a few more items)
Velium Two Handed Sword 1
> (hidden) Master Wu's Trance Stick 1
> (hidden) Fine Steel Scimitar 3
> (hidden) Sapphire 1
> (hidden) Singing Steel Gauntlets
> (hidden) Rusty Scimitar 12

If you have the really bad luck of getting a vendor who was sold some Sentient Armor (which vendors often charge 600+pp for, far more than they buy it for) or something like that, you're in trouble. If it's just FS or bronze, that's really not so bad unless the quantities are high.

Even once you get to the gauntlets again....they will likely cost way more than you can buy them for from the market. Just go find another pair :P

Also, keep different bags for stuff you switch out for clickies and stuff you sell! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Merchants sell them for under 500.
