Default Hopefully fresh meat...

Hi Guys,

First post Newb, My situation is this:
I have a jackass buddy who has discovered P99 and who is trying to lure me in, 'for old times sake'. Once upon a time we used to run around VZ as a SK/Cleric duo. This time he is trying to talk me into playing blue, but I'd much rather play in a PvP environment.

His big concern is not getting thumped, it's that there is no server economy and as an SK no way to really gear up. Is he correct or would it be possible for a duo to have fun?

Second question as long as we're here -- If you were an SK, Bard or Necro who can heal as your partner? Not doing Cleric this go around, no thanks.

If SK, Shaman is great. Haste, good heals, and does damage. Also, Paladin SK is a fun duo, though lacking SoW. If Bard or Necro, I would say Druid. Ports, don't need the haste etc.

You're gonna get thumped. There is no avoiding it. There is also no server economy and it is very hard to purchase entry level equipment at entry level prices.

That said, this duo will still be fun if you enjoy playing EverQuest.

Shaman and SK would be great; slows, haste, heals, sow, buffs, snap aggro, FD pulling, etc. The combo is great and you will have lots of fun.

Don't get upset when you die, you're meant to die once in a while. It's EverQuest

Pro tip: dont start hybrids/warriors first.

Heavy gear dependent.

If it is infact 2 of you duoing I'd suggest toons that can farm+make pp so that you can both then roll the toons you want to play (aka hybrids)

U cant go wrong with a shaman and mage combo, or shamam and necro as starting toons.

Or do necro+druid, then use the druid to coshare PL your other toons up (takes like half a day to get toons to 30+ using a druid).

If you do start with characters for farming plat/items, make your actual leveling characters on separate accounts... access to a druid particularly can be invaluable.

Tempest crootin :-)

We need clerics and rogues, will help you level up. Hekktor started a rogue like last weekend and already has epic and ntov loots. You could be the next success story.

So, I'm the jackass OP is talking about. Don't really care about getting killed. In fact, I understand that there's only coin loot on a PVP kill? That's easier than it used to be when I played.

Read some other posts talking about how chill the server is on log in. Looks good to me. I think I'll roll up a toon tonight.

I have a hard time NOT being an SK, though. That was just the class I enjoyed the most back in the day. Maybe a mage... HellifIknow.
