First question is "Have you been able to run this version of everquest (Project1999) before or is this your first time trying to play?"

With out seeing the crash report its just shot in the dark as to why its crashing. Try running the OptionsEditor.exe in the EQ directory and change your resolution to say 1024x768 and disable all the options like sound and what not. If it runs then its just a graphic or sound setting start turning on 1 thing at time and relaunching the game until it crashes this will let you narrow down what is causing you to crash. Chances are its sound or a resolution issue.

If changing everything to simplest settings doesnt let you lauch then its a compatibility issue or install issue which would require a reinstall.

After you crash and before starting the game up again, post your dbg.txt (Everquest\logs\dbg.txt)

the requirements for this version of the game are super low I wouldnt think it would be a hardware issue unless you actually have something going bad (which you would notice in other applications). However upgrades are always good. If you still have issues with it when you get it back just drop another post I am sure someone here can help.

Keep in mind what Chanus posted. The log file he is talking about will give hardware information along with the reason the game crashed. Much easier to find out why your crashing with that information.

Good luck
