As you wander the East Commons tunnel, sifting through exotic clothing and armor that you certainly can't afford and hearing the shouts of auctioneers from all over, a slight breeze creeps through like whispers of the old Gods, slowly muting out the world and drawing your focus to a fluttering piece of parchment nailed to one of the wooden stands, it reads:

COME ONE. COME ALL.

THE BATTLEGROUND OF BUTCHERBLOCK AWAITS THEE

Doth Yee have what it takes to vanquish thine foes?!

Sharpen your axes! Dust off your spell books!

Test your mettle against other warriors from all over Norrath!

Prove that YOU ALONE are Norrath's greatest champion!

On the 24th of April, in the ancient and renowned Butcherblock Mountains.

Ready yourself, Champion.

In honor of the newest season of Game Of Thrones, I present to you all this event. It will take place this coming Sunday from 2pm-5pm EST well before the season premiere, and what better way to prepare by watching fellow players get killed? This is all for fun, no prizes, just a good ol' EQ beatdown. I WILL do brackets for players who want to be crowned by me as Norrath's Greatest Champion (this literally means nothing, I'm a nobody). I will do my best to make proper matchups, but it will probably fall apart and become a fun shit-show to watch. Come fight, or come and spectate!

Rules and Guidelines:

1- One entry per player & toon
2- Roleplaying is highly encouraged
3- Buffs are allowed, buff the shit out of yourself
4- No casting except by the duelers after the fight starts, any heals, buffs, or songs added to a dueler after the fight begins will disqualify that dueler from the match, albeit that match must finish.
5- Finish the fight, no running away.
6- Don't run all over the God-Damn zone, keep the fight within reasonable distance of it's starting location.
7- While I can't stop people from being cheap in a fight, at least try to make it fun to watch.
8- Be respectful of others (and the chat channel as well, please)
9- I reserve the right to make any possible judgement calls and rule changes if/as necessary.
10 - HAVE FUN

Norrath's Greatest Champion will almost certainly be a high-level toon, that's almost a given, I will do my best to make "weight classes" of champions, I will not pit a level 25 against a level 45.

If you'd like to enter your toon as a champion in the event, please comment on this thread with the Name/Level/Class of your toon. Registration ends Saturday the 23rd at 12pm EST

I will be streaming this event on Twitch, and most likely doing a piss poor job of commentating

I highly encourage other streamers to join the event and stream it as well, PM me if you'd like to collaborate on this.

Any changes made will be posted in this thread, hope to see Norrath's finest champions on Sunday!

This is all in good fun, no rewards unfortunately, I have neither the plat or items (that I'm not using anyway) to offer at this point. But down the road, if this event does well, I'll certainly try to work rewards into the next event!

Not training guards on KoS players falls under rule #8, I have very little power other than DQing people who do this (who may be there not to fight but to simply spectate and troll). There may be some willing to volunteer in keeping nearby guards dead for this event, which would be awesome.

When you say charming NPCs in the fight are you referencing charming another's pet? Or charming a guard and bringing it into the fight? Or both? Can you even charm pets? I've never dived deep enough into caster classes.

The location in BB is yet to be determined, I will circle the area on a map and post it in this thread once I find a suitable area, I've got a few in mind already.
