Canyoneer Pike as a Necro PET weapon. Please post your experience with nodrop weapons

Nilbog asked me to post about this, so I chose this forum for its focus on the relevant class(es).

Summary of the problem:

I scoured the equipment lists (with 2 friends also scouring the lists) for all weapons which proc any form of "slow" on the embattled mob. There were a small handful of such weapons.

Then, I narrowed the list to non-lore items (so I could farm multiples) and there was only one.

... a guaranteed drop from a rare random spawn.

Next I encountered this problem. The item is nodrop and... my pet will not equip it (49 spell: Invoke Death - does not display it and if I give it another weapon, it equips that second weapon as primary).

I have had this confirmed by one Necromancer friend with the same pet.

I have also tried giving this item to Emissary of Thule (which does not display it's weapons) and have had no proc messages (<Mob> yawns.).

Summary: In my experience and one of my friends' experience, Necro pets cannot equip or wield this item.

That having been said, I have posted about this in the private "exploits" forum (because this is the result of a patch which fixed an exploit pertaining to charmed pets used as a surrogate transfer for nodrop items between players). Nilbog responded and said he gave the pike to both an earth elemental and a skeleton pet and both wielded the item and proc'd it. Yet, I have not enjoyed this (lost two very rare and hard to farm pikes doing my tests for Nilbog, too.).

Has anyone else ever been able to give their SUMMONED pet (not charmed) a nodrop weapon and have it actually wield it (show up as equipped) and proc it (if it had a proc)?

As I said above, Nilbog asked me to post about this issue to get more input from others and their experiences with this or other nodrop pet weapons. So, please post about your experiences in this thread!!! Thanks.
