Default New player, Rogue religion and race question.

As someone who is very unlikely to ever make it to the raid scene, would any race / religion combo be worth it to make cultural armor? At a glance I couldnt find anything that would be worth it, but wanted to make sure before i make him. Also on the topic, would I be gimping myself as a gnome i put points into strength? I was leaning more towards barbarian or dwarf, but gnomes are so cute.

Honestly that haze panther armor will be great until you get planar or tov drops. It is really good.

As to race: dwarves are ugly. Gnomes untrustworthy. Barbarians slow witted. Your best bet is to roll barb or dorf, buy an iksar hide mask, and enjoy the greatest race available: iksar.

When in doubt, pick iksar

Haze Panther armor costs thousands of plat, not sure why you are mentioning that to someone who said theyre new to the server.
About race/religion I'd say most important choose the race you enjoy the most Looks-wise. Stats are not so important and you will gain gear along the way that raise STR and so forth.
Gnomes have the ability to tinker, have the "crescent moon" hair-style and are really short so its easy to navigate in dungeons and give the feel of moving faster on the ground.
I liken myself most to those of the Hobbit lifestyle and I enjoy the jiggly ass of the females so I chose Halfling as my rogue.

None of the racial armor is worth mentioning for a rogue.

Asslings have pretty darn good all around stats, putting all the points into strength will net you a char with good base strength and good dex/agi and decent stam. Dwarves will have a higher base str/stam and since you won't be raiding that is a strong consideration for you. The barrel roll is nice, but the reality is you are a Dwarf.

Barbarian is the superior choice for good looks, highest base strength and northmen are in general ubermensch.

As a non-raiding rogue you want high strength because you won't be in ToV gear to make up for lower base strength on wood elves, humans, gnomes and such.

Humans ARE pretty dope looking rogues, and that Wood Elf racial helmet is the win. But you'll be happier with a dwarf or barbarian I imagine. You can spend all your time in DE illusion anyhow.

Female Barbarian is smallest large race you can get just as an FYI.

Dorf + Brell. Racial chain has strength and stamina. Rogue's wet dream. Dump stats full stamina and leftovers in strength. Enjoy highest starting magic resist and nice stamina if you ever make it to the raiding level.
