http://wiki.project1999.com/Fletching gives a good guide on custom crafted arrows.

For economical range I tend to craft Field Point Arrowheads, Bundled Wooden Arrow Shafts, Several Parabolic Cut Fletchings, Small Groove Nocks which give 150 range. Some times, if I feel luxurious, I'll use bone shafts instead of wood (ooh missus!) for an extra point of damage.

You could just purchase flight arrows instead though, if you don't want RSI, but it is 10 times more expensive.

Class 2 Wood Point Arrow.

150 range. Trivial at only 68 skill in fletching. Costs almost nothing to make.

It's the only choice really, I'm not sure what raid rangers use but for pulling the ole class 2 wood point is the way to go...and pulls areas that some spells cant reach like the KC moat water mobs.

I prefer Class 2 Ceramic Silver Tipped Arrow, because it creates 10 arrows on combine.

Edit: The silver arrows are also magic.

Can't beat silver tip laziness. 20 combines for 200 arrows vs 80 combines. It's worth it if you can afford it.

Those are 202 triv.. Might not be great for your wrists getting there. Just saying it's a nice perk for high level fletchers with what was it like 150p to burn on a batch of arrows (20 combines worth). To answer your question, at the bottom of the fletching wiki there is a chart of the cheapest arrows to combine at a given skill level. Don't forget to stack DEX and GL w/ the strain.
