Default Enchanter Farming?

I main a Warrior on Red and am thinking about making an alt to farm cash/items. When I played on Blue, I always wanted to make an Enc for farming but for some reason I cannot stand to level an Enchanter. With the exp bonus on Red, I'm wondering if I should finally give it a shot but want to know some things first:

1) What level can Enc's start farming valuable items? Is there anything you can do around level 50, or do you have to be 55+?

2) How often will I die fighting nameds? I played a 60 Druid on Blue and use to charm solo most of the nameds in Kedge Keep, so I have experience charming. But self-heals probably saved my ass 100's of times.

3) What are some common items for a "beginner" enc to farm?

4) Has Velious made it harder or easier for enchanters to make money compared to other solo classes?

Ideally I don't want to level this toon past 52 or so, so wondering if it might be better to go with mage/nec.

Enchanter is as you prolly know very powerfull. It's also very fragile. Soloing an enchanter means to be aware at all times and very very carefull on the edge of paranoia. Expect to die a lot while learning the ropes and still die from time to time after mastering it.

For relaxed soloing mage and necro are better, but mage has problems in a lot of places and does not have a "get out of jail" card, while necro has several. Mage is easier though.

For easier farming i would suggest necro. Shaman can be nice as well, but while shaman is great for a lot of stuff (often even better than necro), he does not have a lot of options in the way he does things.

So for pure solo camping i would suggest necro, enchanter only if your frustration threshold is kinda high.

After mastering Enchanter solo/charming, it's SO MUCH better than Mage or Necro, with 1 exception, and it's my opinion, but Mage with epic changes solo game play by leaps and bounds.

I enjoy my necro on red. Love when people attack me mid fight and I can CoS and feign everything on them. More PvP options it seems. Hate my mage. Don't do it.

Hmm, sounds like necro might be the best choice given my preferences.

I agree that epic mage would be amazing, but I imagine that by the time I'd be able to acquire an epic for my neglected farming alt, there would probably be nothing left I'd be interested in farming. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Still curious to know if theres anything lucrative an enchanter can do around level 50-52, or if they don't start getting good til closer to 60.

OOT is great if you want to stay 52ish. Just get max cha. No need to farm the items you want when you can make a couple thousand per hour to just buy said items [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Not knowing what you're actually trying to camp and in what zone you plan on camping, but I would say enchanter is by far the best farming class. Outside of a couple mobs/situations enchanter is best. Fast mez/stuns, runes, lulls and so on makes farming and getting through zones very simple.
Build yourself a nice cha set(2-4k) and begin. Enchanter is rough til about mid 20s when the class becomes alot stronger. 50+ with mana taps and runes it just becomes a power house in pve and pvp.

Necros are the most versatile soloing characters you can chose in this game. They are amazing.

Mage epic is beyond ridiculous to achieve. You need LOTS of help and it eats away millions of hours. In the end it's worth it, but it's definitely the worst epic to get in the game.

The people that recommend enchanters are right when considering absolute power. But: Enchanter is hard to play and hard to survive until you really master it. FD on a necro is so great, almost always solves your problems. As a chanter you will need to mez all offending mobs and try to memblur or gate to reset a situation, that can get very stressfull. But of course you will be able to charm almost everything. Power comes with a price.

The 49 animation for ENC isnt that bad and it allows you to do several camps pretty safe. I did Droga and lower guk with the animation solo for PP around 50. Give your animation 2 weapons, haste and ww form. Calm the room, tash/slow pull and cast beserker spirit/rune on pet(and yourself) to keep it alive.

Hole is good for xp and loot 49+ maybe even earlier(Loam armor and vendor gems)
Geonoids in WL is doable at low 50s aswell (gems)
Charming Hasten in Rathe and fearing giants also works pretty well for pure pp farming.

Getting to 51 for Theft of Thought will make soloing much easier where you are able to drain casters.
