Sorn's Screenshot Guide for Dummies: Patching
We're all dummies. It's just a matter of who's willing to admit it.

STEP 1: Downloading the files ssguide01.jpg STEP 2: Copy the first set of files from the patch 2a: You need to find your downloaded file and open it with Winzip or WinRAR or whatever you usually use. 2b: Observe how it's organized. The first set of files (anything outside of those three folders in the zip) will go into your EQ folder, where your eqclient.ini file resides. If you aren't sure where that is, go look for it. Wherever it is, that's where these files go. ssguide02.jpg STEP 3: Copy the next three sets of files into the appropriate folder 3a: IN YOUR ZIP FILE, enter the Resources folder. You will find two files in there. Copy them over into the Resources folder in your EQ directory. 3b: IN YOUR ZIP FILE, enter the SpellEffects folder. You will find a bunch of files there. Copy them over into the SpellEffects folder in your EQ directory. 3c: IN YOUR ZIP FILE, enter the uifiles folder. You will find a folder called default in there. Enter the default folder. IN YOUR EQ DIRECTORY, enter the uifiles folder. DRAG AND DROP the files in the zip file folder INTO the default folder. ssguide03.jpg Tada! You're finished. Fire up EQ to test if it worked. Problems with the files themselves containing incorrect info should be reported in the bug section of the forum.
