Default New Ranger (blue)

Hey P99.

I got fed up with modern MMO design and decided to start playing here after remembering that this server was a thing. I tried it a long time ago but just didn't have the time due to RL issues. I ended up rerolling to Ranger, probably due to some latent masochistic tendencies.

I started out in the Qeynos area, focusing on tracking skeletons for my first few levels. Afterwards I moved out alternating between the Blackburrow area and the diseased wolves for their respective turn-ins. After hitting 7 a nice Druid by the name of Frilbo ported me over to the Faydark area - thanks again if you manage to read this.

So here I am, currently residing in Crushbone. Hopping around from group to group and picking off stray centurions in the meantime. Starting out in this game is really brutal, but I am having a great time. Cheers to the admins and whomever else put this server together.

Anyway. My character name is Aurra if anyone wants to say hi or whatever.

Good luck with lvling a ranger. Difficult but worth it.

Very true. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] But will get a bit easier in Velious with Fear Animal at level 22, and no Hybrid penalty. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeah, exp penalty can be a bit frustrating at times - but I'm in no hurry. I find the game very enjoyable before the level cap.

Took the boat over to East Commonlands and managed to flip a few really low end items. Hoping to save enough money for one or two entry level 1h weapons like a PGT or equivalent.

Good grouping with you yesterday, Aurra. May see you again in Crushbone soon if I can find some time to play [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

For me it's not so much the xp penalty that a killer or anything though it is definitely annoying, it's those people who won't let you group because of the xp penalty that's upsetting. Fortunately I don't run into many of them and the ones that I have I didn't want to group with anyway.

Nice grouping with you too. Was a fun party.

And yeah, I can understand the frustration of community stigmas against a class. I've met some really good players (some old, some new) who want to form a static party with me, so that will nip that potential problem in the bud. Amazing what happens in a game that emphasizes social interaction.

Leveling a Ranger was never hard for me until I hit 50. Everyone was willing to group until then but once I hit 50 it was like I had some contagious disease. Good luck though, it's a really fun class!
