Default Best pet for 29th?

I'm not sure if my research skill will be up to snuff, does anyone have a suggestion on which pet will be better to solo with, Air or Fire? I'm thinking Air because of more health, but maybe Fire's increased DPS will work better. I don't have the money for both, so any input will be appreciate.

The answer is always fire. Until the 50's when it turns into a pussy caster.

I worked with Water all the way up to 49. Water has more HP, DPS is awesome and if you get in trouble (Multiple mob adds), it gives you time to gate or burn them down without worrying that your pet is going to die so fast.

Fire is worthless unless you can single pull EVERY time and don't have to worry about "oops" that happen in game, like a train or whatever.

Water to 49, then Air after that.

After 49 the Water pet becomes a rogue. His ability to take damage goes down drastically. He's awesome for groups because he can backstab, but very difficult to solo with.

I found that the additional HP of the air pet post 49 and stuns were better for soloing.

55 Fire (DDD) will work well for solo pulls. The damage shield is pretty decent and I believe he has 3,000 HP.

Yeah, combine the 49+ Air pet with the staff from Plane of Sky and you've got yourself a nice pet if you can't get your epic.

Even with the Staff from Phinny, the 50+ Water pets just don't stack up for soloing.

Off topic:

On live, years ago I'd take a group of Mages in to Veksar. We'd destroy that place with Air pets.....but that was post level 60.

Fun place with 4 to 5 Mages. Pets would eat everything including the nameds which dropped really nice stuff to sell.

ye the 53+ air pet is a monk, i actually prefer it in groups as you dont have to worry about positioning, it can tank better, and stun.

It depend on your playstile, solo the choice should be between fire and water, both pet do the same dps if you cast your damage shield on the water pet (without that fire is more dps), but you save mana if you use the fire pet.
The water pet got more health so it's easier if you got an add during the fight or something. If you struggle with fire just try water you might like it.

In group (unless you duo with a healer then solo rules apply) you can either pick air or water, water is more dps, air stun and is invisible out of combat so it can be handy.
