Default Greetings :)

Hello all,

Once upon a time, I used to be addicted to EQ. I played on the server of champions, Mith Marr. I played from the release until a few months after SOV was released. My favorite expansion of all time was RoK. After EQ I went to DAOC, then to EQOA, back to DAOC, some WHO and a smattering of back and forth between the games.

Recently I heard about this server, and decided to dig out my old disks, because I keep them all, because I am a hoarder.

I am trying to figure out which class would be best for me. On live I played a monk and a necromancer, with a baby druid. I have limited time to play, maybe 1-2 hours a night after 10pm est and then most saturdays from 8am-3pm est. This means a class that can accomplish solo things. I used to quad kite and fear kite based on the necro and the druid. I am getting used to the controls again in this game, and the UI. One hotbar is rough.

Having said that, I am currently trying to figure out which class I want to roll as a main. Right now I think I have narrowed it down between iksar necro, <unsure>mage and <unsure>druid.

What I am hoping for is some advice on a class that is friendly to get in to, decent to get some gear and can group when I have enough free time. Soloability is key as well.
I have heard that mage is great solo if you can get the epic. Which it appears based on my schedule would be difficult. The necro epic is garbage, unless its changed from the live version where I had it. I understand the druid epic becomes useful sometime in to SOV.

Thoughts dear friends, would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, welcome to p99. The classes you identified are some solid solo classes. Druid would give you the best 'fill every facet' play style. You'd be able to solo and would be good for grouping. Plus the ease of travel would make short playing sessions more rewarding. Necro and Mage are great solo play as well but may be a little less desired in a group.

Are the epics a large concern of yours? They would require a lot of time and resources to get. I don't believe it should be a strong reason why you pick a class at this point.

The community of p99 is pretty large, diverse, and friendly, for the most part. You can really play whatever you want with a varying level of success. Just go with what you feel strongest for honestly.

Hit alt+o to bring up your options and check out key bindings. You can most definitely have multiple hotbars.

Also, welcome back!
