Default Instruction at 0x02ba45b4 reference memory at 0x037af0dc

Getting this error when I try to log into the server: The instruction at 0x02ba45b4 referenced memory at 0x037af0dc. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program.

Running on windows 8.1 64 bit and in windowed mode. Anyone know how to fix this? Been looking around the forums but cannot seem to find a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.

pretty much all referenced memory errors are a resolution+compability issue.

Can try many things to solve it. First, id run it in compatibility mode for 7, vista, or earlier, and run it as Admin. Second, go to your install directory, click OptionsEditor, and adjust resolution there to something like 800x600 till you get in game. And lastly, don't install EQ in Program Files, it has potential issues.

Alrighty, on Windows 8 so compatibility mode doesn't apply to me. Currently trying to run in 800x600 and that did not work neither did the max resolution. will keep trying. ty.

edit: EQ is installed on the desktop atm

I right clicked -- pressed "run as administrator" and got the following error:

Windows cannot find 'eqgame', Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

I am on windows 8.1

Im not a windows 8 expert, but what do you mean compatibility mode doesnt apply to you? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...ersion-windows also says "You can also run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter from your desktop. Press and hold or right-click the program's icon or shortcut on your desktop, and then tap or click Troubleshoot compatibility."

Might also try going to EQclient config file, and change WindowedMode=FALSE to WindowedMode=TRUE. If that line doesnt exist, can add it manually.

Rerun the EQ Options EXE in your installed root folder. I had this when I copied the game from my Win7 machine on to my Win8 machine via usb stick. Had this error when trying to play on the Win8 machine, and I managed to get around it by rerunning the Options setup. This is the setup were you get the choice to select old or new character models.

I assumed at the time the issue resolved because during this it also re-detects you GFX card and stuff.

Worth a try maybe.

Bump, returning player same issue.

Windows 8.1 , tried all of the above.

Edit: found another thread with more options to try, I hope I can get it running. I have upgraded my graphics card and on a larger screen since I last played.
