Default Client NOT RESPONDING - results in having to X-out / Linkdead

As of the recent patch my client will just randomly lock up, turn white (not responding) and never recover. I have to X-out which results in being linkdead in game, and waiting for the character to pop out etc. This happens at the worst times possible, usually the moment I am engaged in PvP on red server, or as a pull comes. I am only noticing it on my epic mage (pet up)... maybe that has something to do with it (?) or maybe too many spell graphics, no idea.

I'm noticing it often. It happens maybe once every 1-2 hours if I had to guess.

I checked the forums and don't see anything about it... I surely cannot be the only person whose all-of-a-sudden having client issues am I?

This has never been a problem in my last few years playing here.

I had my client lock up and kill me twice today for the first time ever but I also had installed the high-res textures and figured that had something to with it and promptly uninstalled them.

I've not changed anything other than apply the patch files.

Happened twice within about 30 minutes in sky tonight.

Is this what you are experiencing? The result of my lockups were UI chat boxes that were too small. I have helped a couple people fix this issue in the past and may help you as well.
