Merchants still have sold items after they are killed.

Haynar: Items sold to a merchant, will no longer be available to purchase after they are killed.

Mauren Frostbeard in thurgadina (-145,217) had an empty inventory. I sold her a Giant Militia Longsword and then killed her. When she respawned the Longsword was still on her list, and I was able to purchase it.

[Mon Dec 01 16:25:00 2014] Mauren Frostbeard tells you, 'That'll be 4 platinum 6 gold 9 silver 2 copper for the Giant Militia Longsword.'
[Mon Dec 01 16:25:07 2014] You give 4 platinum 6 gold 9 silver 2 copper to Mauren Frostbeard.
