SoD had a thing where if you were in a zone for about an hour and did not refresh it would lag you out.

Maybe it's something along those lines? Were you in zone for a while before it happened? | ||

You could try lowering the FPS in the options, I had a problem with is just randomly quitting to desktop with no error too. 50fps is still good =) putting it at 100 will over work your gpu even tho the game is 10 years old, the emu code mite make stuff work harder then normal? I dunno just a guess. But lowering the fps did fix my problem, Gluck

Lower the FPS cap to 45 in the video options. EverQuest's stability increases significantly after doing this. Otherwise, there is no known or obvious culprit to this issue.

I left my character standing in EC for 14 hours last night and it stayed on fine, turned on the monitor this afternoon and was amazed to see I was still online. Then I started walking around and within 3 minutes got booted straight to desktop right after pulling something. It seems like it always happens right after pulling something, NEVER when you're AFK.

It's a slider in the video options tab of EverQuest.
