Primal Weapons and Growing

The Avatar proc from Primal Weapons causes your character model to grow, some people say that this shouldn't occur in classic (or at all).

Reportedly Primal weapons didn't cause your character to grow on EQMac.

I didn't play a melee in classic, thoughts from others?
