Default Duo Question

Greetings Project 1999 Community!

Recently, I have started playing on this server and am really motivated to make some big things happen and get multiple characters leveled up to get ready for the raiding scene.

I have a question because I have noticed in the earlier levels that we enjoy playing alone together unless we can find a full 6 person exp group.

Does anyone know how viable it will be for a Druid / Cleric duo to level up together? Can we get decent exp without having to be in a group? If so, does anyone have any good duo camp ideas for us? We are level 10 at the moment and have been farming Gnoll's in Blackburrow. We have an Enchanter to help give us Clarity so that helps our duoing power a good bit. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone has for us. Have a great day guys!

Anywhere the druid can charm will be a good exp spot for ya [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] cant really think of many other synergies between the two classes.

Whenever someone asks the cleric to join a group just tell them its a package deal and they have to take the druid too.

Great idea.

You basically have all the healing you will need for a full group. Make friends with some SKs/warriors/or maybe the 2 paladins on the server, and you have the basis of a group.

Charming won't be that effective because healing a charmed pet is never as efficient as letting the pet die at the same pace as the targeted mob, and then killing both when they are low. IMO the most efficient way to duo would be some kind of fear-kiting method, but could be wrong on this because I am not familiar with the druid/clr duo. Just group

Druid charm+snare and cleric fear+nuke would probably be pretty good tactic

Once CH comes into play, efficiency rules change.

Convince the druid to roll and enchanter and prepare to win EverQuest.

Here are some pros and cons for you.

Pros for Druids: Snare, Harmony, SoW, Ports, easy charm break with Goblin Gazughi Ring, easier to charm at lower levels, no charisma gear required. (@60 PLing, port money), Tracking

Cons for Druids: No haste for pet or party, no slow, no -MR to ensure solid charms, ONLY ANIMAL/PANT CHARMS no mez, mana expensive roots, "hey can I get a port?", "hey can I get a SoW?", (@60 buff and port bitch)

Pro for Enchanter: Illusions to get around (agnostic), MANA REGEN, best hastes in the game, slows, tash, mez, ae mez, solid roots, PBAE stun, CHARM ANYTHING, only enchanters can charm humanoids and ONLY humanoids can dual wield now (big DPS boost for charm), best dps in the game with the right charm. Obtainable epic with clickable haste which is AMAZING. Chardok AE viable.

Con for Enchanter: Painful leveling at low levels, even with a cleric duo. Buy/camp J-boots, no ports, very gear intensive (charisma is key, int will smooth the process, and some HP to avoid getting gibbed by your charm), you cannot AFK while charm douing unless you have a partner who is on the ball, "hey can I get a C?", "hey can you aug/VoG me?".

With two skilled players, an Enchanter and Cleric duo can handle the same amount of mobs that a full group can, especially at higher levels. It is truly impressive.

This duo would work well in Undead zones/ dungeons. Cleric tanks/ undead nukes, druid heals/ snares, DS the cleric (yeah seams ass back words).

Not the most efficient in the game but certainly doable.

Druid/Cleric is a fantastic duo.

In groups you bring the healing, and some great utility from druid. Duoing, you basically have to have a Druid comfortable with charming. Quadding or root rotting is pretty bad.

14-60 that duo can charm their way to glory.

Pre-39/Complete Heal, you will want to have the druid only spend mana on snare, invis, and charm in outdoor zones. Have the cleric cast Nukes to kill pets when you break them at low health, stun your old pet on break to save the druid and pull Aggro, and heal druid when he gets hurt.

Post 39, in kedge, you can start CHing pets. It is usually more efficient to just break pets and kill them instead of healing. But in situations where you have lots of mobs in Aggro, breaking is extremely dangerous and it's safer to just CH the pet and keep everything rooted.

39-54 kedge is your playground with this duo.
54-60 permafrost bears are glorious.

I boxed druid/cleric on live and Mac servers, both for leveling, groups and raids. It was a great duo.
