A couple monk tricks

Two monk tricks for taking tough mobs (or really any mob solo, but you won't generally be soloing for exp):

- After your first attack round, feign death. Stand before the mob starts regenning (not sure if you can wait the 20ish for Feign pop - if you can, do), swing/FK, feign. Essentially, you're reducing your Flying Kick delay.

- Actually use intimidate to give you bind wound time. This is much more effective outdoors, and also past 40 (so that you can do it throughout the majority of the fight - at 70 instead of 50) so, not very effective in classic unless you're trying to do AC in OoT.



Monk disintegrate:
I'm absolutely in love with feigning mobs off as I run around a corner, if I'm trying to ignore them completely. It allows you to stand and continue on your way with only a fraction of a second paused.

If I think of anything else that's monk-specific, or if you have monk questions, I'll update as I can. If you'd like to post tips, I'll add them.

currently, when you feign, it seems to have a large % chance to disable a root/stun. I was using my feign on fistss to remove stuns in fear, as well as remove roots in duels (sorry ripcord =P). I noticed it around level 35 or so in LGUK, ghoul root, feign, 25-35% chance it was removed.

That's weird. Good deal though.

And that reminds me, I always feign while stunned if it's a long duration stun (ex. -bats in sol b). By the time the stun's done, i can get up to fight or w/e and have feign cooled down. Of course, if you're soloing you might want to get up to reaggro so they don't regen health ... as per above.

any tips on getting fear to fade faster?

there's not much you can do for fear my man except stack MR gear. When i'd go against fear mobs in pulling i'd have my tranix crown/pearlescant mask/null potion/shiver arms/jacinth rings/blue diamond ears/GBS in my offhand.

I remember making a newbie monk that started in qeynos. I took the boat out of curiousity and went to erudin, made my way into the city and noticed the teleport pads. In the front of the City by the entrance of toxx you have the teleport pads up/down. I expierimented and got the right angle, so i could run and fall off the top ledge, and run over the teleport pad back up. So using num lock you could just jump off hit the teleport pad back up, and back down then back up, so i afk max'd my safe fall.

This doesn't seem to work on p1999 because mobs seem to regen more quickly than on live, but the only way I was able to solo King in Lguk was by meleeing him down as far as I could go (with mend), then feigning behind him, sneaking, and bandaging up, and re-starting the fight. after 1 or 2 of these, I'd manage to take him down. It's the way I soloed countless named mobs that I normally wouldn't be able to take.

That and riposte disc + tranquil staff.
