Default Convinced my wife to play! Good duos?

I finally convinced my wife to try out this game and now we are trying to figure out a what two classes are great for duo leveling. Suggestions?

How boring is leveling a cleric?

Double mages are easy to duo with. Easiest class for her to learn. Wives like pets, too.

I have never played a necro, pretty easy to pick up to a returning player?

I was kinda interested in Wizard I would imagine Mage/X would pretty much work for anything.

Enchanter/Druid for versatility (great buff supplements, charming, roots, snares, mezzes and ports) and ability to explore almost every spot.
Enchanter/Cleric for more taking on more difficult encounters

Bard + anything?

I take that back ... Bard plus cleric wouldn't be able to kill anything fast.

In all honesty, the ideal duo question depends entirely on what you want to do and your personality types and bias.

Monk + shaman is probably the all time favorite duo.
Ench + cleric rocks the high end apparently

But the right duo is whatever two classes you guys will enjoy playing individually. Most class combos will work to one extent or another - but there is obvious synergy with some setups.

Strong/popular duos:
Monk/Shm
Enc/Shm
Enc/Clr (Bonus points for extra group desirability)
Mage/Clr
Rogue/Necro
Rogue/Druid
Necro/Druid

Also any pet class plus pretty much anything, including another pet class.
Something to consider: having at least one class with SoW/Selos and/or ports will cut down on your travel time quite a bit. SoW/Selos will also help you survive, so it's a nice perk - especially when you have no gear. Pretty much any casting class helps too, since they need less gear (typically none) to level effectively, and can bind. But, in the end, the right duo will just depend on your playstyles. You can make lots of class combos work well with the right strategy - you just might have to get a little creative [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Did a lot of it on peq, 2-boxing with many of the classes leveled. My fav is drui/drui root rotters. Yeah you could drui/enc, but it really just didn't seem to matter having enc buffs and all that with two drui's. It's all about timing, so can handle quite a bit with two drui's in sync, even multi mobs. And you wont need much gear while leveling if you dont have it.

And I like claric/war, but can be slow, yet good if getting into any raid groups. Good gear is everything with this combo.

I have a few duo chars done with my gf.

Did necro/mage wasn't that great, ended up going our seperate ways.

shadow knight/shaman- awesome

enchanter/cleric- also awesome. nice thing is cleric is easy for someone new to eq, enchanter is just cool

both sk/sham ench/cleric have been able to duo wherever we want, and get a grp almost instantly when we want

You don't mention how established you are on the server. If you're new and finances are an issue I would suggest a very self-sufficient pair like enc/dru (sow, C, ports, snare, fear, mez, charm) because you won't afford jboots or paying for ports/sow pots.

If you like to eventually group I'd pick one of the duos that provide a sk/pal (tanks seem more lacking than clr/enc), so maybe a SK/SHM. ENC/CLR would be a good one as well.

If you just want to duo then pick one of the pet-class duos.
