Wizzie Gear Question

Hey guys!

15 wiz here, don't really know how the INT to mana works, so can someone please answer this question for me? What is the better item/combo to wield?

2HB Staff of the Observers
+5 WIS +5 INT +30 MANA
or
1HP Snake Fang & Stein of Moggok
+5 DEX +10 INT +10 HP


Or, is there a better one hand option (replace the snake fang) for me that i can get for less than 400pp?

+mana at low lvls is what ya want

Staff of the wheel + stein of moggok is fine until you get epic staves

Staff of the wheel would be awesome but don't I have to wait until much later to get it? I've read it's almost impossible without a lot of help.

FTFY. Got mine at lvl 16-17 during vanilla, I believe. Only used the help of people in the zones. It was a rush. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Better than Snake Fang:
Smoldering Brand if you want to melee.
Sacrificial Dagger if you want to melee some, but adds INT.
INT more important at higher levels though, as previously stated.

max out INT until you break 200, then you can worrya bout getting mana items. you want enough mana pool to be able to do quads once you hit 29. I think if you hit like 185 int, you can safely do some quadding.
