Weak FoB ganking scheme - common?

First night on the server. Was looking for a group in FoB. Some level 7 monk tells me he has a group for level 3-6 people. Okay. Insane group bonus. Then he gives a loc and starts telling me to come there. I didn't have a map up and I'm no /loc guru, but the coordinates seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. So I just declined. The guy kept pleading for me to come get great exp. Nope. All night leveling I saw him shouting to get people out there. Seems a few dumbasses actually went.

This is like the EQ equivalent of a windowless white van with CANDY written on it.

did you see him yt'ing people? if not he was probably wanting to group.

dont carry coin and it wont matter if he kills you once.

dunno but FOB was popping yesterday, at one point i saw a good 8 or 9 newbs running around in cloth. very nice.

I didn't see him do anything. Was all suspicious tells and then between that and him fighting with people he either killed or tried to kill in /shout, I did the math. My detective work tells me it was a group of twinks behind a hill or something, jumping people who got lured out.

lol no 6 people would waste thier time hiding behind hills in fob to gank lvl 4 iksars

i know it sounds plausable but its not going to happen

Kind of reminds me of the naked race the other night, where people were hiding behind stuff waiting to gank until the GM's DT'd them.
