Not accepting EQEmulator email address

I have verified my forum account and have tried to complete step two of the process on the getting started guide. I type in my account name, but the email that I have set up with EQEmulator is not being accepted. I even logged into my email, and, yes, I have emails from P1999 in my inbox, so I know it's the correct one. I've tried it three times, and am now afraid to try any more due to my account getting locked. Please help.
