Meaningful Difference Between 1H and 2H DPS for Knights?

This is something I've never conclusively understood, and I've been unable to find clear answers searching the forums.

I'm trying to decide between Ebon Mace and Rod of Mourning for my new SK when he's soloing.

These two weapons have similar ratios, .79 and .80. Is there something inherent in the damage tables for 2handers that will make them perform better than a 1h with the same ratio?

I'm a sucker for iksars so my 2h will not have slam.

I know the Rod has a proc but I'm ignoring that for the time being. I'll keep a 1h and shield around for when I'm tanking in groups, anyway.
