Default I'm guessing: $10,000 would def be enough to.

Put up a real legacy, classic, itemloot server for a few years with a dedicated coder, and staff it with people who follow procedures and SoPs.

Might even be able to do it for $5,000.

That's 100, $50 donations.

Just a few thoughts.

Prob cheaper. But who's impartial enough to head up that kinda project?

Not anyone here I know of really, maybe Chewie, maybe, colgate, samwise.

I'm already making excuses as to why I wouldn't want to even deal with a project on my hands.

Would def like to see secrets get some $$ for the work they've done on the classic server client though.

While a stock server would have smoother mechanics than broken p99, the content would be years of research and development behind what we have here.

Yeah, not to mention all the actual mechanic fixes that would need to be re-done.

Seems logistically impossible except on a small garage box scale.

Unless you count something content-related like damage tables and such, there's probably more mechanics fixes needed now on p99 from implemented bugs than there are fixes needed on a stock eqemu box. Maybe I'm just being bitter because I think the ghosting/teleporting/disappearing is ridiculously bad and amateur, but it's not like it wasn't bug-reported over a year ago.

Nvm... than, I was just thinking, my bro has rack space. Just a thought.

It's sad abacab put up his server and started handing out level 60's items away, cause he seems to have a nack for it.

I know a lot of us said, fuck it, make something custom to tool around with.

But I have a feeling that if someone really did stop at the planes, kept the legacy loot/quests. And classic feel it would be a popular box eventually.

I see what your getting with now. P99 code fork is ludicrious, I agree they should have re-done it minus the custom shit they've implemented over the years.
