Default No spell effects

So I come back from a long break and now all of a sudden my spell effects don't show up, not from me or others. I haven't touched the game at all to my knowledge. My spell particles and all are on in the option's display tab too. This happened once before a long long time ago, I had just reinstalled last time but I'd really rather not do that this time. Anyone have any advice?

This is what I would try..
/showspelleffects on
Or
Delete your ini file and start fresh.

I also maintain a backup eq directory so I can just copy/paste into the p99 game files quickly or if I need to replace only a few files at a time.

If you get them working, you should also try the classic effects [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

i had the same issue after messing with some files with the new patch process, make sure you didnt delete or remove the Spellsnew.edd file. i removed Spellsnew.eff and Spellsnew.edd trying to clean up the patches and should of jsut removed the .eff. Restored the .edd file and BOOM, spell particels are back!

Hope this helps
