Default Stupid main character choice crisis question

I have yet to have a real "main" on the server and keep asking advice on different methods of play but my biggest problem is that I basically like ALL the classes in this game and can't make up my mind. I am currently thinking of going with a Necro or Monk as an Iksar because through my past Eq experiences i have never played an iksar or leveled in Kunark. Currently working on a bard so I would be stripping him to gear the new toon... any suggestion on how to deflate an alt/main crisis?

Thanks to everyone in advance.

You have to power through the boring times on one character and keep in mind that getting 60 opens up a whole new game.

Good point, but which toon do i take that far is my annoying part. I am not bored I think the problem is more of a "oh look it's shiny..." type of thing. I see a class and i like the mechanic of it so i want to try it out. So for a solo/group toon what is a solid option with the current population?

You cannot go wrong with an Iksar sir. Find one of the more experienced Iksar fanatics on the server and ask them for some basic leveling advice. Cabilis is beautiful, terrifying, efficient, and amazing all at the same time.

I sit invis at the entrance to Cabilis from FoB almost 24 hours a day, because it's just that good.

**Edit** to answer your question, go necro for easy soloing 1-60 and cool factor, or shaman for easy soloing ~24-60 and also be greatly desired in groups (but expect to be VERY busy in groups at higher levels, especially if there's no cleric).

Especially as a Necromancer. Do not make my mistake. If you start a Necro, go Iksar! Or go Human for Bertoxxulous, because he's an awesome god, but realistically, go Iksar! The old Necro wiki didn't point out the real advantage being an Iksar gives you, so I rolled a DE, and leveled up. Got Lich, and Demi-Lich, and have regretted it ever since. I'd race change in a heartbeat if I could transfer my no-drops.

Pick one character (or create one - whatever). Make it arbitrary, it doesn't matter. Use "eeny-meeny-miny-moe" if you have to. Pretty much all classes are good once you get far enough into them (>inb4 "lolranger").

Funnel everything onto one character, either use it or liquidate it. No exceptions. You will have no other characters so you should have nothing in your bank besides spell/quest items (et al).

Delete all of your alts. You won't need them, they are only distracting you. Make a rule that you are no longer allowed to make an alt until you are able to fully gear it without spending any money (this should be around level 40-50, and by this point it will be pretty damn clear that you now have a "main").

Always worked for me.

All of the classes ARE fun in their own unique way in my opinion.

My suggestion to you would to be just pick one, focus on leveling it to 60...regardless of the gear you have. Once you're at 60 you can get access to better camps/loot and then gearing up alts becomes very easy. I'd suggest a druid, just because they are fuckin awesome!

Iksar necro might be a good choice for you. If played right, you can really experience a lot of different aspects of the game (dps, cc, even healing depending on the situation). They are insanely versatile in groups and great for farming or soloing. You also don't need to have that great of gear when starting out.

Shaman are also cool, but can be expensive (especially in the higher levels, if you plan to get your high-end spells). Torpor goes for 100k+ and others can be around 20k+.

Monks are a great choice, too.

did the "eeny-meeny-miny-moe" approach which landed me on an enchanter. this will require a bit of selling off gear but overall not too bad... will be hard deleting some toons but I think this is probably best so I stop looking at them as options.

Dude, Enchanter sounds like an awesome choice. From the outside (a Shaman's perspective) it looks like one of the most fun and creative classes.

Plus you can get stupid rich from selling jewelry.
