Default stat raising food

i think stat raising food might not be working. here's why:
I've been working on baking and have made some wolf steaks (+1 sta). this gives me 1 additional HP.

since I've been using this food my health never rises above 99%.
it does for a brief second but then immediately jumps down to 99%

I have come to understand that this happens when there is a disagreement between the game client & the server about how many max HP I have.

I suspect the server is not granting me the +1 sta, which may mean that stat raising food isn't working, or maybe just not wolf steaks.

Seems like stat-raising food was not added until April 2001.

Your client isn't going to agree with the server for a while, if ever. I'm surprised the recipe still works, though.

Wolf steaks existed, stats or no. Food is giving stats that do function, your bug seems similar to this guy's bug report.

On that note, testing Dwarf pickles raises my stamina and correctly functions.

hmm if that's so then there's probably no good reason for me to continue to work on baking.
