help modding (hotbar)

hey friends, i just got EQ installed on my laptop (after not playing for too long!), and my screen is TINY! so now i am digging through this file "EQUI_HotButtonWnd" trying to make some minor adjustments (i like the classic look, not making heavy mods here).

what i am trying to do is remove the page switcher and "hotbutton set" buttons, and also to remove the wasted space from the bar. i am running into trouble here finding the correct line in the XML file that corresponds to the "hotbutton set". if anyone can please help me?

ill make some screenshots to help clarify what im trying to achieve in a few. thanks!

update: i managed to make it work by shrinking the size entry for each object to zero. next i will be attempting to change the x-length of the bar to remove the new empty space.
