If you are on a budget, then you can also solo just fine with a Gigantic Zweihander or even a BIBS or Silvery 2h.
Bronze is fine for your stock armor, but Fine Plate is better (slightly better AC, much lower weight). Upgrade the slots that make sense with Darkforge, where it makes sense. Hitpoints, Hitpoints, Hitpoints... -Mithril BP -Skull-shaped Barbute -5/55 ring x 2 -Diamondine Earring x 2 (or 4str/2int earrings if the DEs are too expensive) -Cloak of the Ice Bear (or the 45hp cloak (forget its name) if you can afford it) Haste item when you can afford it. Mith 2h, or fbss, or whatever else. Runed Bone Fork in your range slot - good resists for the cost. | ||

Personally I think the Skull-Shaped Barbute is a far superior helm to the Hammerhead Helm and at a fraction of the cost.
Once you start raiding you will be looking for magic resist gear for every slot you can get. Unlike for casters, the Platinum Blue Diamond Tiara is not a good option for a tank as you loose the 13AC, 35HP and 2MR. In this instance you can just stick with the Barbute till Kunark and not have a need for a substitute item. Just my opinion.

Mith Legs / Arms are terrible for tanks. Lower AC and who cares about Str as a tank? Darkforge Arms / legs are 100x better for SK Tank. And Skull Shaped Barbute is hella better then 7sta on HH Helm, 7sta wont = 35hp till like level 50 or 60 or something? And Face for an SK should be either Dented Brass Mask or Large Plate. And depending how rich you are, the 2ac 35hp/25mana earrings are better then diamondine earrings. Str = Poop for tanks. Focus everything on AC / HP. And Mithril BP really is a great twink item and better then DF BP imo. 9 Sta is nice, but you wont get more then 30 HP from 9sta till like level 40+ yeah? Plus the 15agi on Mith BP = Alot more AC.
