Default FV style Roleplay Server

I know someone just recently submitted a thread on this, with a copy of all of Firiona Vie's rules.

I'm wondering if this has ever been considered by Dev's? I know the server populations aren't consistently stable enough to warrant another server, but I would love to see something along these lines, eventually be established.

I showed up on FV just a few months after it opened, and had the most fun of my EQ "career" playing there. I loved not having a common tongue, I loved not being able to group with evils when I was a good. I loved being able to only have one character, and I loved the fact that gear was droppable, minus your epics.

I can honestly say this was my greatest memories in EQ, even though it was fairly late in the game, and well past the Velious point. I'm just wondering if a server with these rules has ever been considered?

The problem with anything 'quirky' is that it won't draw enough players. Honestly if P99 had a combined population of 3000+ players at peak I think more thought would be given to branching out and doing things like this [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I like the idea of it, I have engaged in some roleplay and do enjoy it... particularly if a new player shows up and you offer them a good vs evil choice.

I've mentioned this in past posts but was camping Felwithe guards on my iksar necro and offered a new high elf the opportunity to either loot a dead guard and pledge allegiance to Cazic Thule (gaining a 20pp sword and plenty of cash for spells), or following a false prophet...

Put some of this in game for new players, they love it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I hated the trivial loot code on FV. I don't understand how locking out item drops is supposed to be roleplaying. Me and a friend both rolled alts on it when the server launched but didn't stick around for too long. I played a bard, I don't remember anything else.

More pertinently though, Swish if you still play that Iksar necro I have my own and we should totally proselytize sometime.

Praise Thule.

I have played on FV since it went live. It started out really packed. But all of the stupid little rules just ran everyone off. Hell I once tried to come back 3-4 years ago and went 2 weeks without ever getting a group, Im talking running to hotzones and sending tells to people in the zone around my level. Sending tells to people in any zone around my level and nothing.

Now no one even roleplays there. People only go for the 50% bonus EXP and the fact you can buy any loot you want. Its full of plat buyers and the only way to level is to pay for a swarm PL.

yeah, i don't see the point of playing on a server where you can pretty much buy any item in the game at lvl 1...oh wait **ducks**
