Default SolA = dead zone?

I have good memories of SolA, and back in the day that zone was super hot. I'm about to be high lvl enough to venture in... But, I've heard it's just dead... It makes me sad!
Loot was good, action packed and really technical zone, not remote...
Anyone can explain? Is it due to the fact that most people just want to grind safely to 55+ in this game?

People go, but it's a bring your own group place. It was like that on some servers in live.

its because people tend to avoid zones with high numbers of casters

Sol A and Sol B are both good zones to die in with all the Casters. They seem to have a LOT more mana than I remember on live. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Was in there last weekend.

The pathing in the castle seemed tough. We ended up with a lot of 12 pulls == wipes.

Still had fun, but probably won't go back.

Excellent zone, but you don't want to be there when it is crowded. Numerous pathing quirks, tight corridors, running mobs, and deadly casters make it one of the trainiest places on Norrath when inexperienced folks try to move through. And because of the pathing quirks, there aren't many places that are 100% safe from trains, because shit will sometimes run big loops around the zone.

Play smart. Be careful. Collect bricks. $$$

Wasn't always a dead zone. When I was leveling there it was super camped. Groups fighting over spots near the bar area and all those tunnels. I remember there was some horrible pathing that you really needed to know about though, or else you risk some massive trains. There were two hallways in particular that if you pulled a mob down, he would spirint in the opposite direction, follow a new path that went around the area, and come back with 9-10 friends. I thought that might eventually kill sola as a popular exp spot, maybe it finally did.
