Default Lowbie bard gear questions

So I just hit level 19 last night on my bard and this is my first character that i've gotten past 14 so I'm not rich. I'm still running around in bronze/leather armor and using a pretty bad weapon, does anyone have any advice as to some decent lowbie gear that I should start saving up for? I really don't know what to look for, any advice would be great!

Bards are less gear dependent than casters. Get mistmoore battle drums, lute of the gypsy princess, and vendor brass and wind instrument. Save your PP and just take whatever upgrades you can get in groups. For weapons (assuming you want to group), pick up a 1hb, 1hs, and piercing weapon for <500p per weapon skill. Sionachie's Partisan will probably be the best ratio you find for that criteria, get the others to keep your weapon skills up.

Once you ding 46, try to get on some hate runs for planar armor and some sky runs for the haste belt.

Don't spend money on bard gear until you know enough about the class to disagree with what I've posted here.

Default value gear

i agree with the above, but if you want value some gear:

5ac 55hp rings always a good investment (<250p)
4ac 45 hp rings are only like 100p if ur really that broke

Sarnak emblazened tabard for CHEST is great value for the 150p it costs

Lumberjacks cap for HEAD

Kobold-hide BOOTS

Cant think of any other super cheap items that will actually make any difference. Buy ur instruments and learn how to swarm kite

or just buy a set of bronze and look baller

Let's be real here. Nobody ever looked baller wearing a full suit of bronze armor.

My full visible set of Paineel Steel might be the best investment I've ever made, considering how unimportant it is for bard gear to have meaningful stats while leveling:

Does anybody even see this stuff for sale? Granted I don't go to the Hole often, but I've only seen one piece of this stuff drop in all my time on P99 and it was a non visible piece.
