Switching Over
Hey guys,
I’ve been playing blue for a while, got my bard up to 57 before I realized that I’ve been missing the one thing that made classic EQ so damn fun and addicting back in the day – the fear of rage-inducing death. It’s just not the same playing PVE with years of experience and knowledge of the game. I’m planning on rolling something or another and had a few questions. Apologies if these are answered frequently. 1) PVP item looting is disabled, but coins are lootable, correct? 2) 1.5x experience gain for all classes? 3) PVP is enabled after level 5? 4) PVP is limited to +/- a certain number of levels from you? 5) Any other relevant rules I’m missing?

coin only, no exp loss on pvp death
not sure exact exp rate but yeh its fast pvp starts at level 2 (in theory, actually seeing another level 2 might be rare with exp bonus) +/- 4 levels til 20, then +/- 6 til 40, then you're in the big times with +/- 8 (lower level's range is used, meaning level 20 isn't in range to level 15 ooc is global (& retarded)

Thanks for reply. What's the deal with some mob damage and some PVP damage? If i'm beating up a mob and somebody comes by and blasts me how does exp loss work? Is it if PVP damage is >50% or something?

Killing hit determines EXP loss. If Mob kills you, you get standard PVE death. If player gets last hit, you get PVP death with no EXP loss but no rez ability.

There is a 1.5x bonus to exp plus a scaled bonus from 1-50 to help people through the beginner levels. Once you hit 50 it is classic exp x 1.5. You should be able to level up to 30 pretty quick.
All characters get the bonus but the hybrid and race penalties still apply.
