the global tick we all share

so i was casting some dots and i started to realize that the ticks wouldnt always come regularly after the initial dmg..

i know every tick occurs on 6 second intervals but seems the first tick might come directly after my application or sometimes 4-5 seconds before the 6 second intervals begin

this led me to believe that every dot, from every player, on every victim, is always ticking at the same time.

then i was like woa... nihilum.. azrael.. flowers..

arent we all sharing the same tick?? we are all connected inside. deep inside... in the code....
