Need help w/ running EQ under Vista

Need some help guys. The game runs on my PC, but the following issues are driving me crazy...

1. Takes forever to load - sometimes locks up
2. I cannot tab between screens to go to EQwiki, etc... - this causes it to crash or lock up
3. After camping/exiting it takes forever to close - sometimes locking up

Not certain as to why these are happening, and I have lived with them for some time (21 levels worth), but I would really like some help to resolve if at all possible.

The PC I am running should handle this game with ease. I have a Dell XPS 420, Intel Core Duo CPU E6850 3Ghz, 4GB RAM, Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit

I am running WinEQ as well. Not certain I have the best settings on it and if anyone can provide those as well it would be great.

What else do you guys need to help me diagnose and fix - just let me know and I'm all over it.
