The thing I hated about 1-3 was how technologically advanced they were. I get that the movies were made much later so I expect much better special effects but it's kinda far fetched how every vehicle in 1-3 is 100x more advanced than a few decades in the future, where they only have x-wings and tie fighters. I never read the books so maybe it's supposed to be that way it just makes little sense to me

I didn't get the feeling the tech was any better (the time difference isn't much anyway), things just looked nicer which makes sense considering there wasn't a galactic war. You gotta think that in 4-6, we saw a rag tag rebel alliance. Basically scraping together whatever they could, probably reusing anything they could find. Tis the life of rebel.

they addressed this, i was a stawars superfan back then, well up until they butchered it.. but they said it was because after the phantom trilogy the empire's cruel reign resulted in a degradation of the galactic economy and tech suffered from that, hence all the broken down ships of the original trilogy.

it was about as inspired of an idea as mediclorines.
