So consider this.
They didn't just throw out the original story, which includes the first 6 films. The Skywalker legacy will continue, but may die off, who knows.
The point is; They are continuing the story of Luke and it will conclude with the 9th film.
Will Disney screw it up? No. Will JJ? No. Will you as a fan of the originals? That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it.
If you say you can bare or thing Ep 1 - 3 is OK. And, I feel about the same as you. Then I think you can stomach this and you will not hate it. Just remember it is the Star Wars universe. There are new characters and it will mainly focus on them and their continued story. It will NOT be about Princess L, Han Solo and the original droids. It WILL be about Luke Skywalker's survival of the Jedi ways and his ability to over come new enemies along with training the new heroes. AND, it will be about the new enemies that can't just be destroyed easily by Luke.
This universe has changed in a major way and if you haven't been reading the news, you will be surprised on how much it has changed.
Also, if you are a BIG TIME book fan, cannon and expanded universe, then you will probably not like this movie. There is a reason they left all that shit out. Remember, good ol' George Lucas did what ever the fuck he wanted with his movies which had NOTHING to do with the expanded universe originally. |
