I'm sitting here spectating someone spectating a football game and I've seen the same Nissan Rogue commercial like 8 times, and it's the first quarter. Fuck this shit.

Jeremy must have not been very athletic as a child so never played any sports. Alot of sports are boring to watch if you have never played them. I enjoy watching anything for the most part as it is better then 90% of the crap thats on TV anyways. Give me Curling over any reality show anyday of the week.

Soccer is cool too, but I rather American football. I was raised in the glory days of John Elway, I came into my teen years as the hate fueled Vikings/Rams matchups kept repeating... and when my world was torn apart.. Drew Brees.

If you have a receiver-based home theatre goin' you used to be able disconnect the center channel on FOX and watch it without the commentary. Not sure if this still works.

As for the OP.. I'm not really sure what would become of pro sports if no one enjoyed watching it on TV. Certainly wouldn't be the same scale as it is now.

Overall this is just another case of someone bashing sports because they feel strange being in the minority. Something we've all seen too many times to count. Nothing new or interesting. Not a big deal.

There are many things I don't enjoy or understand the enjoyment in. But hey, if people like 'em.. great. Hardcore raiding on p99, NASCAR, beets, Lady Gaga, feces fetishes, foot fetishes, golden showers.. yeah I'll stop there.

The first time I walked into Panther Stadium (around 2000 I think) was indescribable, being a lifelong football player (grade 6-12)/fan (age 8-present). Goosebumps is what I felt. The energy from the crowd was off the chain insane; no wonder NFL players can play so wide open all the time! (That and their paychecks depend on it.) On the field in a small High School you rarely notice the crowd at all, unless you sit the bench. But I could not imagine 50k+ ppl cheering after a sack I had made. It has the be the closest thing to being a music superstar or Alist actor. This all coming from a biased lifelong football fan. To a child, it's a piece of Heaven. To the adult mind, however... it's dumb as shit. Men being payed millions to move a football around, while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet. I look at it now like Christmas - it's for the children - not us.
