I was in perma last night with a group camping the scryer(bard, mage, cleric, shaman, war) and experienced this strange lag even with a 38ms ping to the server and no packet loss. Basically it seems as if it starts as a slow delay of input going to the server, to a severe degree as time passes, but the data received was fine. At one point it was taking 2 minutes for my spell to go off, but everyone else was casting and seemed fine. This would happen no matter how many times I re-logged, changed ip, or restarted the comp.

Once we died I noticed as we ran back in that I didn't experience the lag at all until a mage in my group summoned a fire pet. So to test it I relogged and healed outside of the group. By doing that I no longer experienced any lag for the remaining 20+ min we were in there.

Hopefully this helps in figuring out the issue..

It goes from ok to really bad w/o warning. Almost died to a green last night as I couldnt cast or open doors (or alchemist rock) for several minutes and had to /q out.

When I quit out it takes about 15-20 minutes to get that character back in. After the usual "You have a char logged in.." message, you get to character selection menu and can log in any other char except the one in Perma. If you do select him/her it loads for several minutes then dumps you back to the login screen. I was only able to get back in after logging in another char first.

In Hawaii using 7mbps DSL, it shows been 150-200ms which is normal, have a wired modem, use Titanium client, has only happened in Perma and only recently (although I haven't been in Sol A in a long time, Sol B is no problem). I use Windows 7, 6 megs ram, quad core, 512meg video card.

There is a problem with permafrost only that is causing it to go into high cpu usage, I haven't pinned the problem yet.

Aye permafrost is messed up. A few mins after loging in it starts to lag, then doors will take forever to open and tells will take 5+ minutes to travel while say/gu will work just fine. After that the zone will crash randomly.

You sure it's not doing the same thing for SolA? Only two places I experience this..

After seeing this and getting Res'd last night I noticed the spike in usage. It requires a reboot to go away apparently, as it follows you about.

Regarding permafrost, it either takes a short time for the lag to begin, or it begins with more than one person in the zone.

I was alone in the zone for 30-40minutes without lag. Then I couldn't open doors - and noticed that a second person had zoned in.

I wonder how anybody can kill Vox in this lag?

Still going on in Perma after patch on July 5. As for killing Vox, I can't even carry on a conversation when I'm in the zone =\

The issue begins as soon as you use a world object. It isn't actually lag as your connection to the server stays fine. The issue is your character itself becomes de-synced. I don't know why, but every single time you use a button, or open a door, you are just flooded with delay and it only gets worse and worse over time.

I have been killing the goblin elites for almost an hour, got bored and decided to open the door to look around which I knew was a foolish idea. As soon as the first goblin elite repops, I get one dot on it that takes over 15 seconds to hit it. I try to run for the gate, but hey it's not opening. Awaiting rez currently because a light blue goblin beat me to death over the course of 4 minutes while i managed to open the 2 gates. Made it about 20 feet from the zone out, pretty sweet [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

P.S. yes logging out fixes the issue temporarily until you open a gate.
