I like FF 3 then 2 then 7 then 10.

As far as best RPGs go without them.

Chrono Trigger
Suikoden 2 (I liked it better than 1)
Earthbound
Secret of Mana
Super Mario RPG
Seiken Densetsu 3

possibly the best post in board history except that now you have 421 posts instead of just 420. If this was your 420th post you would have been crowned like King Arthur.

Not gonna lie, I loved some of the new features.. and the game is gorgeous. But.. at the same time.. the combat system is different. I don't know what it's called, the 'real action' battle system that I tried on one of the new FF's.. I absolutely hated it. If this is what they're using opposed to turn based I will probably hate it and won't buy it.

Glad to see some others appreciating the classics. Also, yes Rise of the Sinistrals sp? was a pretty solid game. Can we get some devs to make some more SNES rpgs?

Another honorable mention that might be a little more unknown is Illusion of Gaia. Was a bit different but I enjoyed it.

great list, I wasnt into secret of mana, but it is pretty good.

Super mario RPG has fantastic writing, probably the best the genera has to offer.. so many amazing jokes that are tong & cheek zings against Jrpgs in general.. I was pretty wowed by some of them.. great comedy! You just wouldnt really know it, since its hidden inside super Mario RPG haha

2. SotN

SotN is by far the best game ever made in terms of the quality of art direction, music, content, and single-player combat immersiveness. But even that gets old after a recent playthrough, and the difficulty curve needs to be stronger, and it's missing a couch coop mode that would be very easy to implement.

Honorable mention for Terraria, the best game of the last 10 years by leaps and bounds.
Gotta represent Symphony of the night.. that game was incredible. If you haven't played it, find an emulator, and play it immediately.

"What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets."

as far as terraria goes, I did play this one and felt it had too much of something in it, that I cant remember, something that is like.. it reminded me too much of something in minecraft that I cant remember.. but I do respect it as a game even though I cant really get into it.. that and its pretty incredible and deep so it gets a nod for that.

I wonder what I would say is in the top 5 games from the last 10 years...

I think Red Dead Redemption is quite possibly one of the best console games ever made. But Im gonna think harder on it.

Also Snes Zelda is fucking amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing also so is Minish Cap.

I think it's the same (or similar) as 15's battle system. Which is... ok I guess. It works. As much as I would love an old school system of 2 lines of characters staring at each other in slow paced turn by turn combat, that old tech won't fly in a modern AAA game.
