And when pressed about whether or not the house was ever going to be finished, you announce that you never actually intended to move into it, but you also won't ever let anybody else move in there, either.
Alright, enough analogies.

The whole EQClassic project was very ambitious undertaking and the amount of coding that needed to be done, and the size of team, kind of made it nothing but a pipe dream. Was a great idea though. Not sure its worthwhile, though, 10 years later and with P1999 in existence.

"No one here is going to beg you to save yourself for EQClassic. You can find a temporary fix through other means, but I am certain that you will not find what you are truly seeking until this project is complete." - Yeahlight
Looks like we are all fucked, never gonna find it.

The legal team will be the ones to fire off C&D's like skittles without any oversight. Anything further than a C&D requires heavy management involvement, at which point smed is like 0 fucks given.
I met quite a few soe people at the latest fan faire. Most of them know what we are, and respect it (even in one case where, having said he respects us, told me we're dicks for ripping their shit, lol). You guys wouldn't know but I have a special block on the SOE IP Subnets when they visit this website. It displays an error message saying we shut down due to legal matters. The reason this message is there is so that when the SOE Legal department got yet another message about P99, they would hit that block when visiting the site and figure they have nothing to do. They eventually caught on, but it was trolly and lulzy.

If Yeahlight didn't know that his "create a server, ask SOE for permission" idea wasn't going to work he must be the kind of idiot that deserves to get hate mail. Since he can't possibly that stupid after re-encoding classic EQ, as stated he must be the biggest egotist ever to exist on EQ or a downright liar. Quote:

Yeah, fuck it, I am going to work on the trilogy client again.
https://github.com/SecretsOTheP/ is where I will be working on finishing a 'classic client' emulator if anyone is interested in continuing the whole 'lol look at the classic UI' thing. It's going to stay open source. That way, if I or another developer that decides to contribute get a mental breakdown the work is not lost forever. The most important part of this being that it will work in conjunction with current EQEmulator clients so you have a choice of using any other EQEmulator client such as Titanium. With the way the networking code is set up (quite hackishly, i'll admit) you can communicate with an EQ Titanium client alongside an EQ Mac or EQ Trilogy client. First things first, I'm going to write a DirectX7 DLL wrapper that causes the client to not go into fullscreen or convert the application into a fullscreen windowed application. Anyone who was in EQClassic's testing should know that it was one of their major issues - the client not functioning on modern hardware without tweaks being a close second. I do not know why they were having problems with their network layer, though I suspect it was related to their rewrite of the dinosaur that was EQEmu 0.2.3's Networking. The exact issue? Couldn't tell ya because I don't have the source. The current client that the source works with is the EQMac client. I am planning to move to the Trilogy client as soon as I can get it out of Fullscreen.
