Haven't been following origins that closely but i've seen some news about it.. i thought uthgaard was pretty much the "p99" of DAoC? What is the difference between these servers and why all the hype for this new server?

In a pug loot raid a couple losers got all bent over a couple drops going to our guild instead of them, etc.... nothing even that good and the loot rules were discused prior.

So this guy was so upset he had his buddy infiltrait the guild and sceen shotted my guild leader typing the "N word".

Then this mole traded the screenshots to the cry baby for some spell craft work.

Next thing you know my guild is left with no leader "perma banned" with no warning or appeal. All our guild bank and everything went poof because the guild merchant was buggy and we were all using the guild leaders house merchant.

Lol

So lame.

All new levels of pixel cry babies over here in Mid.

I got banned from the forums for making a post critical of how theres no Albion "for the realm!" feel, how alot of players are in it for themselves. Like 1/10th of the kind of criticism i post here on red99, and here i criticize dev decisions and they let me post. Gotta say P99 feels alot more professional and restrained on being receptive of criticism.

Beyond that, i soft quit (log in still 2-3 times a week) because i dont see the point in endgame. Raiding Sidi, keep whackamole, thats end game? thats all there is to it? Maybe im missing something. It doesnt help that this ridic insta-50 shit didnt get wiped. Now ive got 3 50s and saw non of the dungeon zones i would have enjoyed leveling in a bit.

Ive never played Uthgard but the way I understand it they had a lot of broken shit and empty promises that never got addressed.

Lets say Uthgard was p99 and a new classic server opened up with Velious and no tmo bs, most people would jump ship right?

Well thats what happened to Uthgard, so many quit that they wiped the server and are revamping it now

But it seems like all I read about origins is how broken the realms are lol.. like the post right above yours. insta 50's, 1 realm steamrolling RvR from exploiting lvl's etc.

What are they revamping about uthgard? A wiped DAoC server sounds pretty cool

edit: just read their "revamp" post on their site. i didn't realize how bad it was with their pop and stuff. guess their server is closed for the time being and origins is the big one for now lol

Not sure, I hear they could never support a large player base and have too few GM's, like 2, so yeah

The biggest problem with origins/ genisis is that the population is capped during the day and it's hard to log on, also they seem to reboot the server a ton, which is annoying

how close to classic is it? did they release origins with classic or with some expansions enabled? Sorry of this has been covered, hard to read through 50+ pages of txt
