To my name, I have one forum suspension which I shared with Fiegi for trolling guild recruitment threads, which was very common practice at the time.

As far as complaints about how things are going in the raid scene... heh.. if you think there's no basis for a complaint from me regarding it... read over what happened again. Dawg. Oh, did I mention I was proven right in every instance?

Nirgon, you're right, that was a very well worded post. And while I know you guys hear the same shit every day, that doesn't make any of it less true. Yes, we recognize and take problems seriously, and yes we are working on them. I know updates go a long way to calming the masses, but again, we are busy people, and we don’t want to say something is gonna happen and then it not happen, that wouldn’t be fair to you, the players. And that’s why the staff only really tells players about changes in the patch notes, because that way we know it’s in the game.

And I also agree that keeping fresh players around is a bigger challenge than attracting the players. I see new players all the time, I just don’t see them making the grind to 50.

1 I agree with you about getting tough on the forums. The forums are a breathing advertisement for the server, and regardless of what anyone thinks, it does reflect on the server, it’s players, and it’s staff. Honestly maybe a couple more forum mods wouldn’t hurt to simply enforce a common sense policy.

2 global ooc will turn into a living RNF forum, I’m not guessing, I’ve seen it firsthand. People will also try to crash zones and/or the server by having multiple toons spamming global ooc. It’s really just a bad idea, and currently one that the staff believes serves as a great example of where the disadvantages clearly out weight the benefits in our eyes. Simply put, there are currently enough different ways for players to talk shit to each other, they don’t need global ooc. I however would not be opposed to an earlier stated idea of which allowed players up to lvl 30 or so to join a “beginner” channel that existed as a means to connect new players to other new players that aren’t coming to the server with many friends or a guild.

3 RMTers should be shot in the street, I agree. Not because I think it ruins the economy, but because it’s an actual threat to the server. The effects of RMT on the economy are minimal, RMTing has existed on EQ since 1999, and that’s the truth. Duping is a much bigger threat to the economy than anything else, and will eventually create a trade-only market where plat has little to no value at all. Again, I have seen this happen.

I won’t comment on Uthgaard (because I never worked with Uthgaard), but I will tell you that I personally will not be walked over by players. I will not tolerate rule lawyering by these young attorneys when it’s clear that the intent of a rule has been broken. Nor will I tolerate people trash talking the staff. I personally don’t care what is said about me, but I have pretty thick skin. The rest of the staff works their asses off on this project more so than any other staff I have been a part of over that last few years, and they absolutely do not deserve to be talked down to by a bunch of QQing pixel raging children (they know who they are).

Try to remember that not staff members are not gods (except Rogean), and as such, we cannot just do whatever we want. Every time we do something, we have to be able to explain it, and so evidence is actually required on our ends just as much as it is on players. Also, please remember when there’s a problem that isn’t being handled the way you would personally handle it that each staff member is limited by his or her own access. I personally cannot believe how much Amelinda has done with how little access she had for so long.

And lastly, this server would not be what it is without all of you, the players. You can have the best staff ever assembled, and it wouldn’t be worth shit without the players. So with that being said, a big thank you to the players that actually are out there helping the noobs with binding, or porting so they can play with a fellow friend of a different starting city. Because those helpful players are smart enough to realize that this is their server as well, and they are smart enough not to shit where they eat. They realize that by helping these new players, they are actually helping the server as a whole, and as such, are truly helping themselves in the long run.
