WoW pvp very fun, and super competitive in arena. Unless you're ready to put in work, you'll never rank very well.

I enjoyed WoW pvp I hadn't played EQ pvp at that point so it was new to me. I played on a PVP server through Burning Crusades and bought the 2 expansions I think after it but quit with the one that destroyed Barrens.

Battlegrounds were a lot of fun and some of the world pvp was great. Raids on the opposing faction cities was fun and so was Blackrock Mountain.(name?) You could run people off the ledges and chain into the lava and kill them as they were running to raid zones.

You had a lot more options with PVP but they took what EQ offered and just modified it. It wasn't like there were just 1 or 2 items for every class that could make them OP in pvp you could itemize based off way your skill trees were set up.

Well, Nostalrius is Vanilla wow so arenas aren't in place. Just battleground and outdoor PVP which will still provide a lot of fun. In this type of system you pretty much can poopsock to gain Titles/Ranks.

Arena came out in burning crusade, and it's the type of system where losing one match to the wrong team can drop days worth of rating. Only the top .05% teams got Gladiator titles. Pretty hardcore, I enjoyed it very very much.

I made a warlock got to lvl 35 and quit due to imbalance issues at launch. Hopefully its better now.

Started playing an emu called Lordaeron last week. It launched like two months ago and is currently in Burning Crusade with plans to advance to WotLK in just a few days here on December fifth. It won't be going further than Lich King. There are something like 6k people on at any time.

I have fun PvPing. Hit level 19 yesterday and did some Warsong. Dominated thoroughly on account of my lightning-quick reflexes and killer instincts. Was literally rewarded with Honor. I'd compare it to Red99, but I've had like four fights in the eight months I've been here, playing five or six hours a week, and almost every time my opponent has fled to the nearest zoneline and plugged. No Honor gained, at all.
