tldr past boxes were populated by garbage players, red is still pretty blue as far as pvp is concerned.
u sound bitter

iirc you didn't even start playing here until months after the holocaust ban, and never played past boxes

Actually we beat Nihi over and over in PVP leading to our ban.

We couldn't kill Naggy - we were PVE noobs. I think we wiped 10x over a few weeks.

Then we beat the strat out of one of them and put him in a wall resulting in our ban and ultimate downward spiral.

Nihi was the superior neckbeards and they won fair and square, and we lost most of the POF fights when it was released mostly due to IP exemption insta camping clerics with trains on them. I dunno who trains though those guys are dicks.

Also we won most of our Guk fights, and really the only time Nihi was ahead was when they neckbearded to 50 and walled Naggy for a few weeks while we caught up.

tbh both guilds should have been banned for exploiting however the holo ban wasn't even permanent. what, did it last a week or two? I saw plenty of holo on a week after the ban. Uprising merging into nilly pretty much sealed the deal, not your ban. i also played well before the holo ban as I was online when the ban was announced. I rejoiced at the time because Donkee and some other holo dudes trained me constantly on my first char (samwise wasn't my main at server launch.) Anyhow regardless of the gay ban, there was no stopping Nihilum. The only VZTZ guild that stuck around and continually fought the good fight was FF. My favorite moments were being that lvl 39 druid taking part in mass pvp in solb. I will never forget Arzak staying on me the entire fight while I chain healed HB and Abysmal.

RIP FATHERHOOD (Founding Fathers and Brotherhood alliance)

damn, I kinda forgot how gungho HB was in classic. I remember him sending me tells to hurry and buff/heal him so he could get back into the fight. Dude was pretty red back then. Pras classic HB.

Not many people have the time to lead guilds here, its true.

I am impressed with your 18 hour a day commitment for the last two years .

God only knows what you've missed out on.

Bless those little noodle arms. Bless them.
18 years old, 18 hours a day. but at least he goes to music festivals with his girlfriend.

Love being in a casual raiding guild that takes 4 days a week off and only raids 4 hours a night.

Must be horrible to set alarms to vampire hours to slay Kunark mobs?
isn't your goal next week to come contest and steal those vampire hour kunark mobs? yikes.

Every time I see a thread that has potential discussion it turns into who did what when to whom or why we are better than you.

Looking forward to comments on the original post.

I have a hard time understanding what is the 'right way to pvp'.. I came from rallos zek, where the server was all about progression as per designed by the original creator and god brad mcquaid envisioned it.

It was more difficult than the blue servers, becuse its a free for all wild west, where if someone wanted to be a bandit and go around the world killing people, they could.. that made the game even harder for them, becuse they had to hang out and progress with other bandits, that often are difficult to trust. Even here, when I hang with known pvpers theres always that fear that they may just kill you for kek's.

So to me, PvP here is working as designed in the original classic sense.

Is that what everyone wants here? Yes and No of course.

Lite, what do YOU think pvp on the box should be like? In a perfect utopian world, what would a night on the server be like?

Like Smite? you log on, level 1 and by the end of the night you are level 50 fully geared just via PVP?

Like Battlefield? Everyone is level 60 and geared basically the same and we just log into North Freeport and just pvp for like 20-40 mins for a nice KDR?

Or like EQ? Lots of PvE progression - gankers and pvp guilds roaming trying to stop progression of strangers for reasons?

Curious, what is your ideal pvp lifestyle? This question goes out to everyone, since everyone seems to think everyone else is doing it wrong.... what is your way of right?

Me personaly? basically what we got here.. I think its a great mix of PvE and PvP.. Although Id like to see 20-30 people in NFP just logging on to PVP for KDR [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
I don't think EQ pvp was ever designed. It was more of how to hammer the square peg into a round hole so we they get a few more subscribers. Many people had fun on the various servers but I never seen any well thought out posts back in the day that said anything other than "EQ never was and never will be a balanced, well designed pvp game. "

The reason EQ will never be a well designed and balanced game in PVP is because it was never designed or balanced for PVP.

Lite was the single only reason I would never join his guild. I don't want him in charge of anything, or making choices. His entire time on the box, I never wanted him to lead. I don't want in on a mass guild in ToV either. Hello PDM pals =)
