Played this server off an on for most of my adult life, but these dudes refusing to reset Green after so long forced me away, b/c of how top heavy and stale it was feeling. NEVER would've thought i'd go back to live, but they rotate new TLP's in which gives me that early game EQ experience, with packed leveling zones, I think most of us love so much.

Yes I know that these devs work for free, and that they already have a huge job as is. Not speaking towards their work rate, more so the end result of the decision not to reset.

The nostalgia of a fresh launch always wears off for me when you literally cant exp in multiple zones as every camp is taken 24 hrs a day until the sweatlords hit 50. Then they level a few alts to 50.

Werent they discussing not the server being reset but voluntary self reset and limiting items used as in era.
Only classic for x months then kunark for y months etc.
So najena wouldnt have jboots.
My memory could be faulty though.

That's exactly the point that the bot was making: you can self-timelock all you want, but that won't make Drelzna suddenly spawn.

but yes, the dim bulb loramin is correctly assessing my statements.
Self-Timelocking doesn't effect the world changes, which can play huge parts in how the game is perceived.
(certain items dropping, exp rates changing, new spells and spell locations changing, different npcs, etc etc etc)

A good example is actually the blue jewelry house in freeport. Before velious, you can level up jewelrycrafting in there very fast up to 200+. After velious is introduced, one of the merchants is literally murdered and replaced by a gnome.
