Ench is definitely #1. Probably Shamans second? Necro was great in classic/Kunark, but there just aren't undead in velious. As for mage, I suspect druid is much better than mage if you know what you're doing.

Nonetheless, somehow I've made the most money on my ranger of all characters, but it's really only good if you're like in the 1% of rangers who know all the outdoor camps in and out. I've also made a lot on my monk as well.

Monk is definitely underrated especially if you're just flat out trying to make the most vendor junk cash as possible

I never do vendor trash. It is just never going to compete with a cash camp like king.

Does this sound like an efficient way to farm greens? Do people just like to argue on these forums?
if for whatever reason i dont want to be getting hit by greens, which is exactly what you were concnered with, then indeed it does. frankly, the idea that getting hit by a green that big of an issue in the first place with the berserker line on your spellbar was pretty absurd argument in the first place.

This thread is in such a funny place. So I will address the original question.

The number one way to farm low to mid tier GEAR is to play a class that can solo vendor loot mobs.

This includes old world guards, hill giants, or specs for the most part.

Necros and monks are the best for this.

Necros have a large set of tools to accomplish this through pets, fear kiting, dots, invisibility, etc.

Monks can sneak vendor, which is huge as well as the ability to mow through most mobs with ease and a large heal every 6 minutes plus bandaging to 75% above 51.

All the other arguments are for classes that can farm mid and high level items solo or in duos/trios which is where you can make larger chunks of money, but you are dependent on named spawns and them having the loot you need and other players availability if needed.

Hope that helps.

Mages are better than necros at guards/giants and the like.
They can summon 10 slot weightless bags, their pets are a little better. Necros are much better against harder targets, that require that large skillset.

You hardly need to be killing undead mobs to farm as a Necro

Farming vendor trash on green is really annoying.

Get some friends and round robbin some good EC loot.

In that case it's best to play a class that's useful naked.

Ench qualifies. Necro is super stronk. So is druid, wiz, mag, clr.

And shamans. U have to go all organic paleo tho if u do shaman otherwise Brad will know and u will never get ur torpor spell.
