I don't think P99 will be around much longer. Was such an amazing project. Wish I had seen it when it was BRAND new.

It has more to do with Daybreak Games, and things they've said. If you play on TLP for even an instant you might be shocked about the overall sentiment of P99 by both the staff and community. It's problematic when the first thing you find when you google EverQuest leads you to a forum of Qanon weirdos.

If you log onto P99 you might be shocked about the overall sentiment of the TLP servers. Very different and if P99 went down I would call it a day there or play another emulated server before going to "a new classic server" that dies inside a year.

If P99 released a new server every year, the previous P99 server would die instantly.
I could have a blast playing on Aradune right now, but I would much rather play on Mischief. If Mischief didn't launch, most players would still be playing on Aradune. I don't consider this dying. If P99 released a new server every year, the same effect would be had. And it essentially happens already anyways. I remember P99 Green being dead for months before Kunark launched (and I have to assume it's dead now... like how long has Kunark been out now?)

Secondly, 99% of you wouldn't be playing P99 if it cost $15 a month to play.

And 99% of you would be playing TLP if it was free-to-play.

I know how P99 players are.

The sad part is that most of them are super broke and think they can't afford to play TLP without realizing that they would actually be able to make money legally by playing on TLP. Instead of being some loser who sits in his mom's basement farming nobles for worthless currency, literally just swap over to TLP and be some loser who sits in his mom's basement farming nobles for real-life money.

It's a no brainer. You don't even have to be good at this game. The type of people who buy Kronos with their debit cards are employed people who don't mind spending $100 on an amount of currency someone like you could farm in a few hours.

Oh man I had no idea that players on TLP and random CSR staff at Daybreak have authority to revoke any sort of permissive licensing etc.

You’re right dude they’re totally gonna shut down P99. Not like they first would have to find a way to do that under their contract and then also find a way around a promissory estoppel defense by P99 (sorry if those words were too big for you btw, I know your IQ is on the lower side).

I legitimately don't understand why Daybreak doesn't pressure p99 staff to do more about all the racists and absolute human trash that fill these boards. I've just figured they aren't paying attention.
